SRETSIS AW15-16 MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK, TOKYO
The AW15-16 collections design inspirations was inspired by a 1986 British-American musical adventure fantasy film called “Labyrinth” ergo many design elements are derived from the film and are reborn with a new interpretation by Sretsis. Mystical creatures, flying unicorn monkeys, giant furry monster, and a wild rabbit are featured through clothing design.
Picturesque scenography of the runway design is derived from a maze concept and overlapping pattern of movement. The original settings are turned into new runway design; it is filled with real blossomed flowers, strawberries and grapevines. The maze-like pathway of the mystical forest was portrayed into a simple routing circulation instead of a narrow flat platform runway. No matter the models decide to turn left or right, there is no dead end. The circulation system is simplified so that the models will eventually end up in the middle at the bottom of the steps.
